InsightVM in four to six weeks: what a partner-led deployment looks like

A licence is not a programme. Here is the baseline we aim for when CyberUnify deploys Rapid7 InsightVM for a mid-size estate.

InsightVM in four to six weeks: what a partner-led deployment looks like

Buying Rapid7 InsightVM is the easy decision. Turning it into a defensible, tuned baseline — console, scan engines, Insight Agents, sites, asset groups and templates that match how you actually operate — is the work. In-house trial and error against a new platform rarely finishes in a quarter. A partner-led deployment can reach a usable baseline in four to six weeks.

Week-by-week outline

  1. Scope and discover. Map what you own, including assets nobody put on the register. Agree the scan boundary in writing.
  2. Deploy and connect. Console, engines, agents, credentials and connectivity proven in a controlled first site.
  3. Tune for your estate. Asset groups, tags, scan templates and exclusions that reflect production reality — not vendor defaults.
  4. Prioritise and assign. Risk views, owners, SLAs and tickets in your existing workflow.
  5. Prove and hand over. Board-ready reporting on the trend line, plus a cadence that keeps exposure moving the right way.

What we refuse to call “done”

A green install wizard is not done. Done means authenticated scanning where it matters, coverage you can explain, and a remediation path someone outside security will follow.

As a Rapid7 Registered Partner in the PACT programme, we bring licensing and the people who operationalise the platform under one roof — so you are not assembling a reseller and an integrator after the purchase order.
